Synopsis:
Pairs or loose colonies nest mainly in fallow fields and lightly-
grazed lowland pastures in the Columbia Basin, and very
sporadically in similar inland habitats elsewhere throughout Oregon.

Relative Detectability:
Fairly difficult to detect by sight and song, and difficult
to confirm breeding. This species was the object
of a focused survey in the Willamette Valley in 1996, and those data have
been included.
Challenge:
Confirm nesting of this species in the many scattered locations
where it was observed but not confirmed.
